What computer system do I need to use LiveHealth Online?

Is there a LiveHealth Online app that I can download to my smartphone?

Yes. To use a mobile device, search for LiveHealth Online in the App Store or on Google Play. To learn what mobile devices are supported and get instructions, click here.

Do doctors have access to my health information?

Sometimes. It depends on whether or not you set up an account. With a LiveHealth Online account, you can allow doctors to access and review your health information from past visits. Also, to help keep track of your own health information, you can self-report it at livehealthonline.com. Go to the My Health tab and then select My Health Record

How long is a typical doctor visit?

A typical doctor visit at LiveHealth Online is about 10 minutes.

Can I get online care if I'm traveling or in another state?

Yes, just make sure to select the state you’re in under My Location and you’ll only see doctors licensed to treat you in that state. Don’t forget to change your state back when you get home.

How much does it cost?

The cost for an online doctor visit is just $49 if you don't have a health plan, if your plan doesn't cover online visits or if you haven't met your plan’s deductible. If your health plan covers these visits, you may only owe the copay or coinsurance amount. Either way, you will always see what you owe before you begin a visit.

Can I use LiveHealth Online if I’m not on Anthem insurance or if Anthem insurance is not my primary insurance?

Yes. You can have a visit, but you would need to pay for the LiveHealth Online visit with your personal credit card and then submit the claim to the other health insurance plan to determine if you will be reimbursed for your visit.

Will I be charged more if I talk to a doctor on weekends, holidays or at night?

No. The cost is the same no matter when you visit with the doctor, just $49 without insurance.

How do I pay for my doctor visit?

You may use Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express debit and credit cards for payment. Keep in mind that charges for prescriptions aren't included in the cost of your visit.

Can I get a sick slip after my online visit?

Yes. To obtain a sick slip from a LiveHealth Online visit you must have a visit with an online doctor and tell him or her you need a sick slip before the call ends. The sick slip will include the date of the visit, recommended date to return to work or school and any restrictions. To get a copy of the sick slip open your account on LiveHealth Online and do the following:

  1. Select My Health
  2. Choose My Previous Visits
  3. Select the conversation visit date that you asked for the sick slip
  4. Scroll down on the conversation form to Additional items
  5. Select Sick Slip (PDF) and print

Can the online care physician provide medical clearance to return to work?

Yes. The online care doctor can provide medical clearance to return to work or school, but this requires an online visit with the doctor. Be sure to request the sick slip before ending your conversation. The doctor will only be able to provide medical clearance for a reasonable number of days and is based on the doctor’s clinical judgment. The sick slip can be obtained from the online care system in the conversation history.

Can an online doctor complete Family and Medical Leave Act, disability/insurance, request related to service dogs, DMV forms, or school/camp forms?

No. Completion of these forms requires the patient have an ongoing established relationship with a primary care physician such as a family practice physician, pediatrician or other medical doctor. Completion of these forms often requires an in-person physical exam and lab tests, which cannot be done through an online physician visit.

How do I change my username?

To use LiveHealth Online you must have an email address for your username, but you can change your username (email address) any time. First log in, then:

  1. Select My Account (in the top right section of the screen)
  2. Choose My Profile
  3. Scroll down and select Identification
  4. Choose Edit and then edit your email address to another email address of your choice
  5. Select Save

How should I enter my health plan ID number?

Enter all letters and numbers from your health plan ID card, without spaces.

What happens if I don't enter my insurance information when I sign up?

You can enter it any time by going to livehealthonline.com:

  1. Select My account (in the top right section of the screen)
  2. Choose My profile
  3. Scroll down to Health insurance information
  4. Select Edit and then change your insurance information
  5. Choose Save
If you don't have health insurance or your health plan doesn't cover online care visits at LiveHealth Online, you don't have to enter any insurance information.

How do I know which doctors are in my network?

If your health plan is offering LiveHealth Online, then the doctors that appear on your screen are already participating in your network. Always check to make sure you have selected the state that you are present in. This will ensure you have the most updated list of doctors to select from.

Can the online physician complete prior authorizations for medications prescribed?

Maybe. If the online doctor is notified by the pharmacy that your prescription requires prior authorization, the online doctor will contact you for information. If you do not respond to the online doctor in a timely manner, the prior authorization can’t be completed and you will not receive your prescription.

How do I see a Spanish speaking doctor?

Use Cuidado Médico to experience LiveHealth Online in Spanish and visit with Spanish speaking doctor. Spanish speaking doctors are available by appointment from 7 a. m. – 11 p. m., 7 days a week. Same day appointments are available in most states. To experience LiveHealth Online in Spanish, set your smartphone or tablet settings to Spanish and download the free LiveHealth Online app. Then sign up or log in and select Cuidado Médico to get started.

What is Cuidado Médico?

Cuidado Médico allows you to interact with the LiveHealth Online mobile application in Spanish and have a video visit with a Spanish speaking doctor. Video visits with Spanish speaking doctors are available by appointment using Cuidado Médico on LiveHealth Online from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., 7 days a week. Same day appointments are available in most states. To experience LiveHealth Online in Spanish, set your smartphone or tablet settings to Spanish and download the free LiveHealth Online app. Then sign up or log in and select Cuidado Médico to get started.

Do my children over the age of 18 have to have their own account?

Yes.

How do I add my minor dependents?

To add a minor dependent, go to livehealthonline.com:

  1. Select My account (in the top right of the screen)
  2. Choose My profile
  3. Scroll down to My children
  4. Select Add, complete the information and choose Add again
  5. Insert your initials
  6. Select Save

To add dependents using the mobile LiveHealth Online app:

  1. Select Settings
  2. Choose My children
  3. Select Add child
  4. Add the required information

What if I have a question?

Can I use LiveHealth Online if I have vision loss?

Yes. Just call 1-888-LiveHealth (1-888-548-3432). A Customer Support representative will help you sign up for a LiveHealth Online account. He or she can connect you by telephone to the first available doctor. You will not yet be able to have a visit on the computer or a mobile device such as your tablet or smartphone. We always look for ways to improve how we serve you and are working to eventually include live video visits for those with vision loss.

Can I use LiveHealth Online if I have hearing or speech loss?

Yes. You can sign up for a LiveHealth Online account or log in to have a visit with a doctor using a computer with a webcam. When you log in, you choose a doctor. Next, complete the required information on the computer screen and you’ll be able to see the doctor you requested. During the visit, you’ll use the chat box to converse with the doctor. If you need Customer Support, you can use the relay service (711). Go to the Contact page on livehealthonline.com to see how. Chat capability is not yet available on mobile devices as such as a tablet or smartphone.

Can I use LiveHealth Online if I have a physical disability?

Yes. On your computer with a webcam, select Sign up to create an account or choose Login to visit with the doctor. If you are not able to use the Sign up or Login buttons, call Customer Support at 1-888-LiveHealth (1-888-548-3432). Someone will help you sign up and log in to connect you with the first available doctor. You can visit on a computer, but not yet on a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone.
